It is the "Holiday Season" 2025!

Christmas/Holiday Season is underway!  As of December 1st, we have 40 new locally recorded holiday greetings from our community on the air.  With more to come.
Help for Allen is on the way. Two new volunteers committed last week. Both younger! One is an IT professional wanting to volunteer, yet interested to see KIXP grow.​​​  The 2nd, a younger, very computer/IT savvy fellow willing to help in a variety of ways.

Serendipity and the generous contributions of others

It's been a wild five months, getting the radio station on the air, exploring ideas, seeing people come along and help, and finally getting the studio arranged to accommodate activities that serve the cause of our community radio station.

The time is finally here to create a board of directors, trusted people to assist with transforming the station into a business entity, that advises our organization, ensuring it will ultimately take its place as a substantial long term asset to the community.

Along the way & quite naturally, one thing was made quite clear:
People *Really* appreciate our premise of a radio station dedicated to the community.

Our core broadcast goals are:

1. Play local music, from our historical archive *and* active artist

2. Incorporate the voices of our friends and neighbors broadcasting unique community messages.

3. Making a real effort to support local service organizations via on-air public service announcements

4. Take advantage of our new live performance space to produce weekly events featuring local artists

5. Highlighting local businesses into our on air efforts.

6. Identify, interview and preserve a record of interesting or historically significant people

7. Expand upon our connection to the Orcas Island Historical Museum.

8. Place 102.3 FM KIXP transmitters to more locations on Orcas and San Juan Island

The StayAlert project will provide public safety services to Orcas Island, and will blossom into a regional Tsunami alert system.  In a perfect world we will attract additional grants to support this effort.

KIXP.org and additional streaming channels, will be pursuing revenue by offering traditional advertising and digital media services. Providing advertising, SEO, and Social Media services using the same tools KIXP requires us to learn.
