Tune In: KIXP is a radio station dedicated to our Island community.
We've been working tirelessly behind the scenes, and we're thrilled to share our progress thus far. Listen at KIXP.org or tune in at 102.3 FM to experience:
 

• A Soundtrack of Our Island: Bruce Harvey from Radio Free Olga donated a massive library of over 7,000 songs, exclusively from talented Island artists. 
   

• Critical Licensing & Global Reach: We secured our FCC broadcast license that enables us to be on the air. We're also streaming globally at KIXP.org 
   

• Vital Technology: We purchased an essential custom built directional antenna that ensures our station can be heard loud and clear while complying with international and FCC guidelines. 
   

• Weekly Programming highlighting Locals: From Friday night DJs and Youth Programming Wednesdays to weekend interviews with interesting locals and weekday local news shows; this is just the beginning! All our programming highlights local talent and conversations. Your voice matters to the community! 
   

Find Community: From local programming to emergency preparedness, KIXP centers our diverse Island community with:

• StayAlert, Stay Safe: We're building an advanced emergency alert system to provide critical safety messages even in the event of total mainland to island communication failure. Keeping the community safe is a top priority.
   

• Public Service Announcements: PSAs from the Fire Department and Orcas Recycling Services (the “Exchange”) are on the air now, providing vital information Islandwide with more to come. 
   

• Federally Recognized Non-profit: We have achieved 501c3 Non-Profit status so as to best support our community.
   

• Your Voice, On Air: Catch us at the Farmer’s Market every Saturday to record your own “Station ID” where your voice will be broadcast on air celebrating KIXP and the Island!  
   

Give Back: You can be a foundational part of KIXP!

We've laid the groundwork to be a resource for our island community, now your donation builds the future of KIXP. Contribute to your Community Station as we: 

• Develop Community Programming for All: Help us fund ongoing program development that amplifies Island Voices like local artists, storytellers and community leaders. We are also committed to funding Spanish-language programs that connect with the many Spanish speakers on the island.  
   

• Broadcast Live Events from the Island: Experience the energy of our local music scene like never before and sponsor your favorite live concert! 
   

• Purchase essential equipment: In order to continue providing vibrant Island sounds, KIXP still needs help to purchase important broadcasting equipment. 
   

• Support Youth Empowerment: KIXP is creating regularly scheduled, youth-driven programs that will inspire, educate, and entertain. Created by Middle, High school, Funhouse, Peach Pit and Salmonberry students.
   

• Provide a Lifeline for Our Community: We'll be promoting invaluable non-profit resources, providing essential digital marketing support for local businesses, and directly connecting with local police and fire and rescue services to ensure rapid communication when it matters most.
  
  
  
   

• Safeguard Public Media in Trying Times: Public Radio is under attack by the Trump Administration. At the same time, local independent stations are needed to provide diverse, in-depth news & programming that serves the community. Your support of KIXP helps combat these terrifying cuts and increase vital public radio offerings.
