StayAlert set sail for Orcas Island in 2019, with plans to build a robust Emergency Alert System for San Juan County. In 2023 we learned of our opportunuty to expand the project onto our own FCC licensed station which would become KIXP FM

Obtained high power FM partner on Mt Constitution to carry StayAlert data throughout the San Juan Islands and into British Columbia

2023


Formed StayAlert
non profit organization Applied to FCC for an LPFM license on 102.3 FM.

2024


FCC license granted, "A" Street Studio construction begins.
Custom directional antenna designed and ordered

2025 (July)


Antenna installed, broadcasting begins

2026


StayAlert/KIXP organization grows into community managed radio station.

Two exciting years building Eastsound's first FM radio station. 

Bringing the community happiness with our live music programs.

Building an archive of 7,000 songs related to the San Juan Islands
